这是惟一一张较为完整的温州旧城老照片，大抵可以看出100年前温州的城市格局。照片中近景为还保存的非常完好的老城墙，中景为密集的民居、泊在江边的帆船，连江北岸的双塔亦清晰可辨。
Outside East Suburb, in 1906, by W.E.Soothill
This is the only photo available that has an overlook of the old city. From it we can have an idea of the whole city 100 years ago. In the vicinity, we can see the ancient city wall which was well preserved. Around the middle are crowded residential buildings and some berthed boats. In the distance, the two towers can still be seen.
